LastPass: Free Password Manager

I am trying to upgrade to Premium (single user) using a promo 30% off that I received after a 30 day trial. My credit card was charged three times and the upgrade never went through. I finally found a phone number to call and spoke to a woman in billing. She said the problem was with my AMEX and they are not releasing the payment. AMEX said that is not the case. The program disappeared off my browser, so I tried to log in directly and I entered the correct recovery PW - not accepted. I tried to open a new account with a new password, but when I tried to log to that new account with the password I had entered 3 mins early - that was not accepted either -- I tried contact us (the latter normally indicates a human operator) but it is simply one automated system after another so I have given up and will no longer use the service! When my email account was disabled due to a company bankruptsy, I could not receive the safety number to my email, and could bnot access my account any more. This did not prevent LastPass to take the annual fee from my personal account. They do not answer to any email, they do not give support.
