What is IE Tab

Display web pages using IE within Chrome, emulating Internet Explorer with support for Java, Silverlight, ActiveX, and Sharepoint

Fully supported in Windows 11 and after Internet Explorer is removed in February 2023

Features include creating a list of URLs to automatically open in IE Tab, group policy support for enterprise deployments, securely using the old IE rendering engine, editing Sharepoint documents instead of opening read-only, and seamlessly using Java, Silverlight, and ActiveX in Chrome

Requires the use of a separate executable, ietabhelper

exe, to communicate between the Chrome extension and the rendering engine

For me it works really well. I am able to run all the legacy programs that my manufacturing clients are still running (taking their sweet time porting over). Running edge then ie compatability is a hell of a drain on system resources. I have to say I love this product, runs quick, low system resources and have not suffered any untoward crashes. For all the people moaning about having to pay, suck it up. Yes it was free for a while but the developrs deserve to get paid if they are spending ti... Show more

Used this for years for the rare occasion that i needed an older site to load in IE. Always recommended it. Now they want a yearly subscription and the usage just doesn't justify that for anyone who uses this extension. I wouldn't mind paying a one time low fee for a permante license tied to my google account for every system i install it on, but not a yearly one. Can no longer recommend this extention until they remove the yearly subscription.
