When trying to open Audacity after the long annoying wait it came up with an error message saying that Audacity couldn't find a safe place to store temporary files. Trying different locations (/tmp. ~ as it's running on a remote Linux server) didn't work. I did manage to get it to load once with Edge but it's such a hassle to transfer files between the remote session and my local PC (not to mention clicking out of the browser window would close the session) that I gave up.
